Rio de Janeiro in Brazil is known for its beaches, the Carnival, and one of the New Seven Wonders of the World: the Christ the Redeemer Statue.
It’s not always beach weather in the city though, and the Carnival is an annual event.
That’s why the Christ the Redeemer Statue beats them all. Located atop the Corcovado Mountain, the statue is an eternal sight in the city of more than 6 million people. While standing on the mountain to marvel at the structure, you are literally closer to heaven.
