Senator calls on employers to consider telecommuting for workers amid worsening Metro Manila traffic

Employers should look into the implementation of telecommuting for their workers amid the worsening traffic in Metro Manila, Senator Joel Villanueva said.

The senator noted that traffic, which is made worse by the partial shutdown of the LRT-2, is expected to become heavier as the holiday season draws closer.

Villanueva said Republic Act 11165 or the Telecommuting Law encourages employers in the private sector to adopt telecommuting.

“Ipinapatupad na po ang Telecommuting Law at kasalukuyang nagsasagawa ng pag-aaral ang Department of Labor and Employment sa mga trabahong maaaring ilagay sa isang telecommuting arrangement,” the senator said in a statement.
