Traffic will be a challenge for the Philippine Southeast Asian Games Committee Foundation, Inc., the organizing committee of the 30th SEA Games, according to House Speaker Alan Peter Cayetano.
Cayetano, chairman of the committee, said traffic will mostly be experienced in the events in Metro Manila and not in New Clark City in Tarlac, located north of the capital.
“Sa airport lang eh, halos sabay sabay dadating yung mga delegates. Remember, we have to treat the athletes well at ayaw nating ma-accuse na na-hassle sila kaya naapektuhan ang performance nila,” Cayetano said.
He added that the security group is working on a plan to ensure the comfort of guests and participants in the SEA Games, which be held in the Philippines from November 30 to December 11, 2019.
There will be 12,000 athletes and coaches, 1,000 international media and 15,000 volunteers in the biennial sporting event.
