New Orleans Pelicans rookie Zion Williamson out 6-8 weeks after knee surgery

Zion Williamson will not be able to play for about 6 to 8 weeks after undergoing knee surgery on October 21, the New Orleans Pelicans announced.

The arthroscopic surgery was performed to fix a torn right lateral meniscus, the team said.

The Pelicans will be facing the defending NBA champions Toronto Raptors on the opening night of the regular NBA season on October 22.
